01 / NAMES AND FOLDERS

Rename recursively.

Choose a file or folder, match literal text, and replace it in eligible names. Match capitalization, include descendants, limit folder depth, and include or exclude file extensions.

02 / OPTIONAL CONTENTS

Text and binary controls.

File-content editing starts off. When enabled, choose text, binary, or both, with Auto or an explicit encoding. Raw binary replacement keeps the encoded width unless you explicitly enable resizing.

03 / BACKUPS INCLUDED

Keep the originals.

Backups start enabled. Open Backups… to choose a destination or copy the target now, then review the checkbox and location again at Apply. A complete verified backup must finish before changes; backup failure stops Apply.

A backup copies the entire selected file or folder under its original names, including hidden files, empty folders, and descendants outside rename filters or depth. New snapshots never overwrite existing backups. Settings and destination stay only in memory.

Local operation: no app telemetry, activity logs, network client, updater, saved settings, or persistent history. Previews live in memory. Requested backup copies intentionally retain your original file data. The operating system and other software can retain data independently.

VERSION 1.4.0 / SUPPORTED CONTENTS

Names with structure.
Changes with boundaries.

Supported GTA V / FiveM RSC7 name schemas
ResourceGen8 versionGen9 version
YFT fragments162171
YTD texture dictionaries135
YDR drawables165159

In these parsed name fields, shorter or equal-length strings reuse their allocation; longer strings receive new storage with known references updated. Affected texture-name JOAAT hashes and sorted dictionary indexes are rebuilt. Graphics bytes remain unchanged. This structured resource operation is separate from the raw binary resizing option.

For the supported name schemas, matches in unparsed data or ambiguous aliases block the entire preview. Fixed inline fields retain their capacity: 40 bytes for physics groups and 32 bytes for cloth controllers, including the terminating NUL. Hash-bearing texture names require ASCII; other supported strings use UTF-8. Other embedded game hashes and external references are not rebuilt, and successful editing does not certify in-game behavior.

Text representations.

Auto plus 55 explicit encoding choices cover Unicode and major Windows, OEM, ISO and East Asian families. Conversion must round-trip without loss; some legacy encodings require local operating-system support.

Raw binary literals.

Equal encoded widths are required by default. Explicit raw resizing does not repair offsets, checksums, signatures or hashes. Binary Auto uses UTF-8 pattern bytes.

Other containers.

Other RSC7 resources allow fixed-width decoded literal edits only. Unsupported archives and compressed formats are reported. Opaque trailing bytes are retained unchanged; their file offset can move after recompression.

A SIMPLE EXAMPLE

A familiar name.
A consistent update.

Find Apex and replace it with ApeXArts. The folder Apex v0.2 becomes ApeXArts v0.2. Matching descendant names and supported file contents change when those options are enabled.

FIND → REPLACEApex → ApeXArtsFOLDER NAMEApex v0.2
↓
ApeXArts v0.2

Matching is literal. Replacements are inserted as entered.

Windows builds are unsigned. User-reported scans for versions 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 reported detections from two and three vendors respectively. Those reports remain unresolved. Version 1.4.0 has not been externally scanned and has no antivirus clearance. A matching checksum confirms file identity, not safety. Linux requires the system libraries listed in the included dependency guide.

RELEASE CHECKS / 1.4.0

Specific checks.
Clear limits.

All 123 Linux tests and 110 Windows tests passed; Windows tests ran under Wine. Strict Clippy, formatting and the zero-external-Cargo-package guard passed. Backup checks cover original names and bytes, failed backups stopping Apply, independent snapshots, privacy permissions and large streamed files. A clean Windows rebuild was byte-identical using the same source and toolchain.

These results establish the stated tested behaviors. They are not native Windows hardware certification, a GTA/FiveM runtime test, or antivirus clearance. Version-specific verification records accompany reviewed packages.

BEFORE YOU CHANGE FILES

Back up first.
Review with care.

Preview and confirm.

Observed collisions, invalid names, changed source state, and unsupported operations block changes. Keep the selected tree idle and private to your user. Symbolic links, hardlinked files, reparse points, and version-control metadata are excluded or rejected.

Formats have limits.

The supported resource writer updates parsed name references and affected texture-name hashes and indexes. Other game hashes and external references still need separate validation. Unsupported archives are reported. Raw resizing can invalidate structure, signatures and references.

Recovery has limits.

Applying changes uses temporary transaction files and attempts rollback on errors. There is no persistent undo. Completed backups remain as plain original-named copies for manual restoration. Power loss, disk faults, and other programs can interrupt copying or recovery; retain an independent backup.

The application uses zero external Rust packages and still relies on operating-system services. No guarantee of zero vulnerabilities, data loss, or antivirus detections is made. Full release notes, format limits, dependency details, security boundaries, and font licenses accompany verified packages.

Windows releases are unsigned. User-reported scans for versions 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 reported detections from two and three vendors respectively. Those reports remain unresolved. Version 1.4.0 has not been externally scanned. Release preparation and source review do not establish antivirus clearance.
